Shelving & racking inspections
Businesses with racking on-site are required by the Health & Safety Executive to have their storage systems inspected at least once a year by a competent, qualified person.
In addition, visual inspections should be carried out by the operator at weekly or risk-related intervals. In particular, shelving and racking that is at risk of damage must be checked regularly. Racking located in traffic areas are particularly prone to damage; uprights and beams could get damaged by collisions with forklift trucks. Collision damage can easily lead to the rack collapsing and causing physical injury. Uprights should therefore be protected with upright impact protectors..
Regular checks are required for pallet racking, cantilever racking, drive-in and drive-through racking, flow racking, multi-tier systems as well as mobile racking. Inspections normally do not shelving that is loaded and unloaded manually.

Assembly & installation

Project management
The BITO Project Division is responsible for designing, managing and implementing projects in Germany and abroad.
As a general contractor, BITO assumes the entire project management, from planning to completion. This means that BITO takes care of coordinating all the necessary steps and trades to ensure that the project is completed successfully. Each subsidiary has a team of locally based Project Managers. This includes the selection and coordination of subcontractors, scheduling, budget management and quality assurance. We make sure that your project is implemented efficiently and delivers best results.

Shelving & Racking inspections
BITO carries out shelving and racking inspections in accordance with DIN EN 15635 standards and DGUV Information 208-043 and TRBS 1203 guidelines. In addition, our inspection procedures have been tested and certified by the relevant employers' liability insurance association, giving you the peace of mind that your shelving or racking installation is in good hands.
