Efficient warehouse management with the BITO WMS and with TeDaLoS
The BITO portfolio includes efficient solutions for automating warehouse management tasks.

BITO Warehouse Management System
Warehouse management systems are ideal for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups, as they are easy to implement and require only a small capital investment. A WMS is a cloud-based solution (Software as a Service, SaaS) that can handle both inventory management and process control, in particular order management, in a warehouse. The BITO WMS actively supports the optimisation of all warehouse processes – from goods receipt over picking and shipping to handling returns. Implementing the BITO WMS significantly increases cost efficiency, reduces operating costs and shortens order throughput times. This is achieved by eliminating and automating manual processes and reducing warehouse operating costs. Our WMS utilises low-cost devices such as smartphones and finger scanners as hardware devices. In addition, the BITO WMS optimises the use of resources, increases staff performance and overall effectiveness of logistics processes and improves the use of warehouse space.
Automated real-time stock level monitoring with TeDaLoS
For efficient warehouse management, stocktaking and picking, it is essential to have real-time, reliable and precise information on stock levels. TeDaLoS is a mobile and autonomous system for easy, digital and cloud-based inventory monitoring. This task is performed using a large number of wireless weight sensors that are fitted at the relevant storage positions or on bins and containers. The recorded data is transmitted to the cloud using a wireless network and displayed online. Thanks to encrypted data transmission through a wireless network, the system can be deployed flexibly at any desired location in a company or a warehouse, including at the customer's premises. Suppliers receive prompt information about the quantities they need to deliver to their customers. Application scenarios include target/actual comparisons and automated reordering of C-items.

What exactly is a warehouse management system (WMS) used for?
The terms inventory management system (IMS) and warehouse management system (WMS) are often used interchangeably in logistics, although this is not entirely correct. An IMS is a system for managing product quantities and storage positions and can therefore be referred to as an inventory management system. It can also include other functions such as managing internal transport systems (e.g. conveyor technology). A WMS is considerably more elaborate and complex. It can map the entire internal material and information flow. A WMS receives orders from the overlying host system, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) or merchandise management system, manages order data in a database and, after appropriate optimisation, transmits them to the connected conveyor technology. A WMS controls, monitors and optimises complex warehouse and distribution systems. It includes the basic tasks of an IMS and also offers many other functions, including comprehensive methods for monitoring system statuses and selecting operating and optimisation strategies. In short, the task of a WMS is to manage and optimise internal warehouse processes. Modern WMSs have a modular structure and can be extended as required. A WMS has core functions and additional functions as well as add-on modules. The standard range of core functions includes essential warehouse operations such as goods receipt, internal warehouse processes and dispatch. Additional functions, such as cross-docking, dock and yard management, dangerous goods and hazardous materials management, resource planning, returns management, forklift guidance systems are only activated if required by the customer. Add-on modules are usually separate software packages, such as RFID software and pick-by-voice systems, which are not provided by the WMS provider but must be purchased from external suppliers.
