Initial situation and customer requirements
On the Brebieres site, the goods pass by container and arrive folded and grouped in boxes. The retail preparation area dedicated to medium rotation items had to be reorganized.
The objective was to optimize picking operations by limiting travel and to facilitate replenishment of this area.
The BITO Solution
It was decided that the stock of items with average rotation would be housed in dynamic packages, which presents an attractive investment / profitability ratio and wide possibilities for adaptation. The boxes of textile articles come in various sizes. For this reason, shelf spacing had to be able to be changed without difficulty or tools, not only in order to optimize the available space as much as possible but also to avoid wasting time rearranging the different levels.
On-site application
Carton live shelving of the SDS range makes maximum use of the available storage space while guaranteeing very good working conditions for operators. With the boxes moving from rear to front by gravity, all contents are presented on the front of the flow shelves, which naturally facilitates picking. The articles are always available without the order pickers having to search for them at the back of the shelving. Picking performance is increased and the risk of musculoskeletal disorders is virtually eliminated.
