Initial situation and customer requirements
To absorb the growth in sales and develop more innovative logistics, the Logistics and General Services Director of Stihl France, Jérôme Forstendicher and his project team approved the construction of a 12,000m² warehouse in Quincy Voisins. This site is for finished products and overflow inventory.
The BITO solution
- The specificity of Stihl's products is their variable size which requires the management of three types of pallets (800 x 1,200, 1,030 x 1,300 and one up to 1,800 mm), the Bito Systèmes teams have therefore designed custom-made racks of 1,200 x 4,800 mm to store these products of varying sizes.
Benefits for the customer
The Quincy Voisins warehouse receives eight trucks of finished products per day, with peaks of 15 trucks / containers in peak season. Stihl always ships machines with their associated accessories. Small and large orders are prepared in two separate flows. For small orders; accessories and products are prepared simultaneously. While accessories and products for large orders are made by two separate teams. The "accessories" area is organized by product families, which take into account the formats and weights of the products to facilitate the work of preparers.
